For most events, you will need to have a response kit. Typically, these kits should include:

  • First aid equipment - plasters, dressings, bandages, etc

  • BLS equipment - AED, OPs and NPs, BVM, suction, etc

  • Trauma equipment - tourniquets, blast dressings, etc

  • Diagnostics equipment - BP cuff, thermometer, sats probe, pen light, etc

You may also need:

  • Oxygen - CD cylinder, high flow masks, simple masks, nasal cannulas (for both paeds and adults)

  • Drugs - EMTs and Paramedics/HCPs only

If you do not have kit for your shift, please let your line manager know. A&E Ambulance Service has a stock of kits for all skill levels available to borrow.

If you have used equipment from your kit, make sure it is documented on the ePCR so you can be reimbursed or restocked.

PLEASE ENSURE YOU DO NOT USE ANY KIT OR EQUIPMENT OUTSIDE OF YOUR SKILL LEVEL OR WHICH YOU HAVE NOT BEEN TRAINED TO USE.
